Meanwhile, the show went on --primarily about the possibility of no NFL 2011 football --about something few of us have any real knowledge or influence. That really ticked me off. My son, as a high school sophomore and team captain, attended a training put on by MLB, Joe Garagiola and Bob Leslie for Bay Area teams in 1996. My son's teams played in the same league against Bob's Casa Grande squads. My wife was the delivery nurse when Bob's daughter was born in Santa Rosa. It sickened me then and it sickens me now --that the game of baseball (I love it --I paint it, write of it, teach it, coach it still) has not stepped up to truly deal with this.
