Meet Doctor V

Pasedena dentist Jack Von Bulow

Jack Von Bulow, DDS was born, raised, and still lives just outside of Los Angeles in the San Gabriel Valley; he’s practiced restorative dentistry there for over 30 years. Although one might reason 30 years in dentistry or anything else translates into a certain chronological result, Dr. V assures us his physiological age lands him between 32 and 35.

Von Bulow received his Bachelor of Science degree from Cal State University, Los Angeles and his DDS degree from University of Southern California. His practice emphasizes esthetic dentistry, periodontics, and functional care including TMJ-related concerns. Dr Von Bulow completes more than 200 hours of continuing education per year and is committed to being a voice for progressive dentistry and informed patients.

Dr. Von Bulow’s practice intention is “making a world-class difference for others and making dentistry fun.” In that context, Dr. Jack and team are involved in as many as six to seven community projects per year. Von Bulow also serves on the Board of four non-profits including Haven House of Pasadena, the first shelter for victims of domestic violence established in the U.S.

Dr. Von Bulow is a member of the California Dental Association, the Academy for Laser Dentistry, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and the Crown Council. In his spare time, Von Bulow enjoys reading books, watching movies and exercising at a level some might characterize as obsessive compulsive. Dr. V is also an unreformed USC Trojan football fanatic. He’s written a weekly column for the San Gabriel Weekly for over seven years and has been a consistent print media contributor for more than ten years. Dr. Von Bulow’s first book, Can We Smile, was published in 2003.

Molar Jockey Memoirs

Molar Jockey MemoirsDr. Von Bulow’s written perspective on dentistry is definitely his own, coming from the lighter, humorous side and embracing a fairly big picture. Von Bulow asks, “Why not practice effective business, health care and dentistry within a culture of love, humor, and compassion.”

Dr. Jack Von Bulow’s patients know him better than some of their closest relatives. His openness about himself and the world as he sees it makes you feel like you have known him forever. Dr. Jack takes the “doctor” out of the doctor/patient relationship and replaces it with “friend.” Now dentists and patients everywhere will see a lighter side of dentistry. Go ahead and get to know the person behind the mask. Sit back, open wide and get ready to smile.

[I appreciate Jack’s] kind words, they are ALWAYS insightful. More importantly [he has] the gift of creating memories with words.

His genuine love, care and fun-loving nature grace the pages of Molar Jockey Memoirs. He and his team are the dental cutting edge. I am honored to be a friend of someone who is so inspiring and who makes a difference in the lives of many.
